Idk what this one is, but I like it. Definitely some hidden goodness in there. It mostly happened by accident, after I took out my frustrations on a poor unsuspecting piece of canvas. If you think of a good title, lmk.
“Tip-toeing In The Daisies” 2019, acrylic on canvas. A new take on an old photo of the same name from a looong time ago. Hehehe. Birthday gift for my brother, hope he doesn’t kill me for posting this. I love you Jackson!
“Found / Formed”
2019.
3’ x 4’ mixed media on builder’s paper.
It’s now framed and hanging in my grandparents house. If you go visit them, my grandma will be sure to drag you to it 😂
This took a LONG time but was one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever made! I am known to rush my work, just trying to get to the end result. This piece taught me so much about leaning into the process and finding joy in the steady rhythms of detail, like cutting and pasting all those tiny triangles!
Inspired by Psalm 139. “If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night," even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
